Started out windy enough to tempt me over the dunes with 3S97 & 5.8m Poison. Just as we got to the waters edge it dropped off ...... bl**dy typical !

Wind was up and down a little, so just enough and we were tempted, optimitically, to give it a go. Didn't take us long to figure out that it wasn't windy enough, and I for one hate sailing underpowered at this time of year.

Nothing for it, return trip ... over the dunes, de-rig the 3S & Poison, and rig the Rocket 135Ltd & 7.4m Remedy ... then back over the dunes to go play.

There is something inheriently wrong with sailing bigger kit at Camber, especially at this time of year. That said, if it'd been one of those 'summer sessions' it would have been great. Had quite a laugh blasting about with Guy, Rich & Allesandro but was personally really struggling ..... reckon the cold that the missus has been bemoaning for the past few days is filtering through as I had zero energy, ached all over, and sailed like a complete numpty. So much so that the best move I can claim was a nice tack on the inside between the waves.

Mind was still riding the 3S, and this caught me out a treat, much to Rob's amusement as he sat on the beach. I'd gone right upwind and was doing a bit of a downwinding to rejoin the others, and on a run into the beach I overtook one wave too many and as I dropped down the face it quickly became apparent that it was too steep a drop in on the Rocket 135 (I reckon I'd have made it on the 3S tho) and a trip over the falls was imminent.

Just didn't really get it together today ..... but it was a session in January in decent temperatures.

FTR - there was still a bit of timber floating about out there.
